Subregions
Subregions represent relatively homogeneous units within bioregions and are principally
based on geology, geomorphology or finer climatic differences. Subregions are the basis for determining
the major regional ecosystems.
There are five subregions present in the Carangamite catchment. They are Curdies-Gellibrand,
Geelong & Environs, Lake Plains & Northern Foothills, Leigh-Moorabool, Otway Coast, and the Otway Foothills.
