This project represents a unique opportunity for GRDC and graingrowers to partner with CSIRO's Energy Transformed Flagship and farming systems expertise to translate national scale biofuels work to regional scale. Phase 1 of the project will focus on understanding and outlining opportunities that are potentially available to graingrowers at a national scale. This includes different types and potential magnitudes of opportunities for energy efficiency, self sufficiency, and energy production. Phase 2 will use this scoping information to consult with GRDC and Regional Panels, and select 2 or3 regional case studies. These will be explicit about which opportunities should be investigated further, and the methodlogies will be selected accordingly depending on economic, technological, or farming systems focus.Refer Section 1 Project Summary Appendix 1
