You can build relationships with other records stored on the AANRO website. You can relate the record you are currently working on to:
These relationships are displayed when people are viewing a page to help them find related resources.
You can use the input controls grouped under ‘Associations’ to create relationships to other records within AANRO.
Related items appear in the right hand column of the page as links to other pages.
You can attach document, images and multi-media files to records, so they are displayed as download links to anyone viewing that record. You can attach files to:
Typically attached documents are displayed as links within the center column of a page.
You can use the input controls grouped under ‘Attachments’ to upload new files or find existing files and attach them to the record within AANRO.
Project Number:
Enter the project number of this research project, you can enter letters numbers and non-alphanumeric characters into this field.
Title:
Enterthe title of your research project into this field, the contents ofthis field will be displayed on the homepage, browse, search results and the A-Z list.
Full title:
Enter the title of your research project into this field, the contents of this field will be displayed on the detailed view of this record.
Status:
If the research project is still in progress, then the status should be 'Current'. If the research project has been finished then the status should be set to 'Completed'.
Available to the public:
By default this field is ticked, indicating that the contents of this record should be available for the general public to view (once it is published to the public website). Should you wish to keep the details of this private amongst the researcher community then Untick this check box.
Keywords:
The keywords that area available to assign to each record have been pre-defined within an agricultural thesaurus. To find a term, simply begin typing into this field, and a list of possible matches will be displayed. Use the scroll bar of the area displaying available terms to skim through them, and click on the term that best matches your requirements.
Once you have selected a keyword, it will be displayed within the keyword field. Click the [Add] button and this will add the selected term to the list that will be associated with the current record.
To remove an item click the red X just to the right of the appropriate term.
Collaboration:
You can list sponsor organisations that are/have been involved with the research project.
To use this field begin typing the name of the sponsor organisation that you would like to add. If the sponsor organisation has been registered within AANRO it will be listed immediately below as you type. Skim through the list to select a sponsor organisation that matches that required; once selected click the [Add] button.
Should the sponsor organisation not exist within the AANRO database you can simply continue typing to complete the sponsor name then click the [Add] button.
Program:
A number of programs have been extracted from existing records within the AANRO database. To choose one of these, begin typing the program name into this field, a list of available matches will be displayed below.
If a match exists, you can click the name of the program; however if the program has not been added to the AANRO database you can type the complete name of the program.
Sub-program:
A number of sub-programs have been extractedfrom existing records within the AANRO database. To choose one ofthese, begin typing the sub-program name into this field, a list ofavailable matches will be displayed below.
If a match exists, you can click the nameof the sub-program; however if the sub-program has not been added to the AANROdatabase you can type the complete name of the sub-program.
Research:
Associated research projects are displayed on the far right of research projects, and provide an excellent method for people to explore a knowledge domain.
To create a relationship between the record you are currently editing and one that has already been added to the AANRO database, simply begin typing the title of the research project. A list of research projects that match your search will be displayed below, and as you type more specific results will be displayed.
Select the title of the research project that represents the record you would like to associate the current record with and click the [Add] button.
You can add as many research projects to the associations list as you desire.
Hint: you can use %'s as wildcards within your title searches e.g. beef%feed%NSW, will look for research projects that have beef some text and then feed some text and then NSW in the title.
Researchers:
Associated researchers aredisplayed on the far right of research projects, and provide anexcellent method for people to explore a knowledge domain.
To create a relationship between therecord you are currently editing and one that has already been added tothe AANRO database, simply begin typing the surname of the persons. A list of researchers that match your search will bedisplayed below, and as you type more specific results will bedisplayed.
Select the name of the researcher that represents the record you would like to associate the currentrecord with and click the [Add] button.
You can add as many researchers to the associations list as you desire.
Hint: To active advanced search filters click the 'Advanced filters...' link, this will allow you to also filter results by first name, title and company.
Publications:
Associated publications aredisplayed on the far right of research projects, and provide anexcellent method for people to explore a knowledge domain.
To create a relationship between therecord you are currently editing and one that has already been added tothe AANRO database, simply begin typing the title of the publication. A list of publications that match your search will bedisplayed below, and as you type more specific results will bedisplayed.
Select the title of the publication that represents the record you would like to associate the currentrecord with and click the [Add] button.

Sponsors *:
You can list sponsor organisations that are/have been involved with the research project.
To use this field begin typing the nameof the sponsor organisation that you would like to add. Skim through the list to select asponsor organisation that matches that required; once selected clickthe [Add] button.
Should the sponsor organisation not existwithin the AANRO database you can simply continue typing to completethe sponsor name then click the [Add] button.
You can add as many sponsors to the associations list as you desire.
Geographical-locations:
Associated locations aredisplayed within the content area of research projects.
To create a relationship between therecord you are currently editing and one that has already been added tothe AANRO database, simply begin typing the location (place) name. A list of locations that match your search will bedisplayed below, and as you type more specific results will bedisplayed.
Select the name of the location that represents the record you would like to associate the currentrecord with and click the [Add] button.
You can add as many locations to the associations list as you desire.
Hint: use the dropdown immediately above this field '--Filter--' to filter by feature type and state.
Attachments:
There are two method of attaching files to research records:
After you have selected the file you would like to attach (either using 'New file' or 'Existing' file), click the [Attach] button.
Within research projects there are a number of free text areas where you have the ability to describe the project in detail. to edit any of these area simply click the pencil button next to the associated title. This will:
Once you have finished editing a rich text area, simply click the disk icon just below the heading of the associated area.
Once you have finished editing all fields and rich text areas, click the [Save] button to save record details into the database.
If you have finished all edits, you may choose to submit the record to work-flow, from which it will be published to the public website once approved.
